One room. A few hours a day.
ipohaus is a home studio in Alabang, run around the rest of the day. The work is slow on purpose, and nothing leaves without a serial and a look by hand.
Three metres by two. That’s the whole studio.
There’s no factory floor and no second shift. One person, one bench, a few hours carved out of the day. The size is the constraint, and it’s also the reason the work holds up.
Small means every piece gets looked at before it goes out. An order of forty is forty separate checks, not a run. It also means we can take the odd, specific request a factory would wave off, and pass on work that wouldn’t come out right.
Mostly engraving. Some cutting.
A laser does the marking: it burns a name into acacia, cuts a shape from card, etches initials into steel or leather. Same bench, different material each time.
It leaves a faint dark edge where it cuts. We usually keep that. It’s proof of how the thing was made, and it sits well against warm wood. When a clean line matters more, we sand it back.
